UCLA vs. Arizona State odds
The Pac-12 takes center stage tonight as two of its most exciting teams gear up.
Rank number 5 UCLA Bruins Come to this match on a roll. They’ve won each of their last 13 matches and would love to keep the streak going tonight.
However, getting in their way would be Arizona Sun Devils. Bobby Hurley’s team has built a winning streak of their own, having four straight wins prior to this one.
This match has all the makings of a great one, so let’s dive into our guide and find our best bet.
What sets UCLA apart from many of the nation’s elite teams is not only its talent, but each player’s combination of skills and experience.
He starts on top with seniors Jaime Jacques Jr. and Tiger Campbell.
Jaquez has become the offense’s man since Johnny Guzang’s departure, and his production has propelled this team. He averages 16.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
Then you look at Campbell. He’s the maestro in crime, but he’s also very involved in its commission. He averages 13.3 points per game – with his excellent outside shooting – but he’s also averaging nearly five assists per game as well.
The trio is concluded by Jaylen Clark. Clarke is known as one of the best defenders on the ball in the country, but this year, he’s also proven to be dangerous from outside the arc.
Add in the contributions of top freshmen Amari Bailey and Adem Bona, and you can see why this team is so dangerous.
However, the Sun Devils are a team for the job.
Arizona is ranked 31st in defensive efficiency and 11th in effective field goal percentage allowed. Much of this rating comes from how hard the Sun Devils are inside the bracket, ranking fourth in the country in two-point percentage allowed.
The Sun Devils have a very different roster structure than the Bruins, built out of their highly talented backcourt. They are also deep, with nine players appearing in at least 17 of their 18 matches.
If Arizona wants to pull off an upset, it will need to create space away from the catch zone and roll high with its guards. While that’s much easier said than done, the numbers show you can attack this Bruins team.
UCLA has excellent defenses around the perimeter, but they’ve proven to be much softer on the inside. The Bruins are only 129th in two-point percentage allowed, and more than 53% of the points they surrender are inside the arc.
This is a game for Devan Cambridge to thrive. He was an excellent inside arc, making up over 60% of his doubles.
Also, the Bruins burned from mid-range, allowing the opponent to get 42.6% of their 2s farther.
UCLA vs. Arizona State betting pick
This should be a fiercely competitive rivalry, as the Sun Devils are poised to give the Bruins a run for their money.
Arizona defends in the paint and will contain the majority of the Bruins’ offense, and it also has the staff to exploit UCLA on the other end of the court.
While there may be stretches where the Bruins’ talent and experience trump the Sun Devils, we should expect them to fight in front of a rowdy crowd at home.
Back to Arizona to keep this one tight.
