Sherry Beaver has been promoted to President at Carmichael, based in California eskatoon As part of the first phase of a CEO succession plan led by the Board of Directors. In her new role, Beaver will oversee the operations and strategic growth of the organization to meet the growing demand for living solutions for seniors.
Beaver, previously Eskaton’s Chief Strategy Officer, joined the organization in 2005 and led the organization’s efforts in development, management of services and affiliations, joint ventures, partnerships, innovation, and marketing and communications.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Christ College and a Master of Science degree in Gerontology and Education from California State University, Sacramento. Peifer is also a 2008 graduate of the program now known as LeadingAge Larry Minnix Leadership Academy.

Chiovaro worked for 17 years at Laurel Health Care and was previously the director of HCR ManorCare Communities in West Virginia.

Benjamin A. Tate has been promoted to Senior Managing Director and Practice Leader for Seniors and Healthcare Professionals at Newmark.
Tate will work closely with Matt Yance and Tim Gillespie, MAI, both of whom were promoted to Executive Vice President, and Executive Vice President Charlie Henderson, a new employee.
Tate has valued over 600 assets throughout his career, including notable portfolios for domestic and international clients. He joined Newmark in 2017 as a founding member of the Healthcare and Seniors Housing Specialty Practice.
Robin N. Khanal to the Board of Directors of the Florida Senior Living Association
Trial attorney and healthcare policy advisor Robin N. Khanal, a partner with Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, recently approved a board appointment for Florida Senior Living Association. Khanal will serve as a Member of Parliament on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
Khanal is a civil attorney who practices complex personal injury defense, predominantly in the areas of medical malpractice, assisted living, nursing homes and building liability.
As an FSLA Parliamentarian, Khanal’s role is to collaborate with staff to serve as an internal board expert to interpret and apply the rules of order for board and committee meetings, and to provide advice and recommendations to help the moderator respond to points of order. Ipakchi will oversee policy and strategy to work toward equitable policy recommendations to support the health and well-being of older adults at the state and federal levels. Most recently, she served as the Director of Medicare and Medicaid Policy for the US Senate Committee on Aging. Previously, she worked as a Senior Consultant at Health Management Associates.
Saborio will work to ensure that community participation, diversity, equity and inclusion is at the center of all TSF scholarships. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of aging. Saborio most recently spent 13 years as President and CEO of St. Barnabas Senior Services. Previously, he was Director of Outreach and Diversified Alliances for AARP.
Lynne O’Connor appointed Chair of the LeadingAge DC Board of Directors
Ingleside President and CEO Lynn O’Connor, MSA, LNHA, CASP, and CMDCP have been elected to serve as President of LeadingAge DCManagement Board.
O’Connor has over 40 years of experience leading legacy services. O’Connor is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Presbyterian Association of Homes and Services on Aging.
O’Connor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from Saint Joseph University, a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Long-Term Care Certificate from the University of Maryland.
LCS’ Monica Friedman named Best HR Professional of 2022
Monica Friedman, Executive Vice President and Director of Human Resources at LCSHe was awarded the 2022 Dentons Davis Brown Award for Human Resources by the Des Moines Business Registry. The award highlights an outstanding HR professional from Central Iowa for their professional achievements and community engagement.
Among her leadership roles in the community, Friedman is Chair of the Board of Directors of MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center and serves on the boards of the LCS Foundation and Center for Health Management and Geriatric Services Excellence at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She is a former member of the United Way Board of Directors and a former chairperson of the Iowa Red Cross District Board of Directors.
Friedman holds an undergraduate degree in Human Resources for Industrial Relations with highest distinctions from the University of Iowa, along with SPHR and SHRM-SCP. Graduated from the Community Leadership Program of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.

Montero began his career in the pharmaceutical manufacturing field and has held various positions in many industries, where he led business transformation initiatives by innovating solutions, creating new revenue streams, and applying alternative business models to increase value for organizations and their end customers.
Monteiro holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science in Management from Milwaukee College of Engineering.
Jim Kearns has been elected Chairman of the TRSA Board of Directors
Jim Kearns, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alsco Uniforms, has been elected President of TRSABoard members during the annual membership meeting on September 15.
TRSA represents companies that supply, wash and service linens and uniforms.
A graduate of the University of Utah, Kearns joined Alsco in 1993 as Director of Internal Audit, and applied to his current position in January 2019.
