NASCAR Playoffs and Indycar/Nascar Truck Events highlight the complete calendar of recreational racing in 2023

The 2023 schedule of major events at Texas Motor Speedway is an incredibly potent blend of the best in motorsports and auto culture combined with music and outdoor entertainment that has something for just about everyone.

There’s everything from NASCAR Playoffs Weekend and the first NTT INDYCAR Series oval race of the season, car shows, competitions, the Ducks Unlimited Show, the four-day Hwy 30 Music Festival and the Bandas y Trocas Truck and Truck Show, then rounding out the year with your favorite holiday light show The family has a tradition of “giving lights”.

“There is definitely something for everyone on the Texas Motor Speedway calendar of events in 2023,” said Mark Faber, executive vice president and general manager of Texas Motor Speedway. “Obviously our primary anchors are NASCAR qualifying weekends September 23-24 and April 1-2 NTT INDYCAR SERIES / NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series weekends. However, our long-running motorsports and auto culture events like Goodguys Lone Star Nationals, LS Fest, and FuelFest always draw big crowds. We’re also proud to continue the success of recent additions including Ducks Unlimited Expo and Bandas y Trocas. Finally, alignment with Hwy 30 Music Fest for a four-day country music festival in late October opens up opportunities additional facilities for the facility to further promote itself as a sports and entertainment destination in Fort Worth.”

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES and NASCAR Craftsman Truck have paired up again for an amazing double weekend April 1-2 of both open wheel and truck racing after 23 years together but three years apart. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck SpeedyCash.com 250 series is on Saturday, April 1, as 2022 race winner Stuart Friesen will attempt a repeat while fending off reigning series champ Zane Smith and a full field of veterans and young guns who will hit and beat. Their way to earn the chance to take the checkered flag and drive to SpeedyCash.com Victory Lane.

The NTT INDYCAR series got full attention on April 2 with the Texas INDY 375 as two-time TMS race winner and reigning TMS champion Josef Newgarden made a sensational last-lap, final pass to the lead off the outside lane against Penske teammate Scott McLaughlin in what turned out to be a closer margin of victory for the series in the 2022 schedule. Newgarden will definitely be a driver to watch in 2023, but he’ll be chock-full of his Penske teammates as well as six-time series champion and five-time TMS winner Scott Dixon, 2021 winner Patricio “Pato” O’Ward and the entire field others.

The NASCAR Playoffs invade Texas Motor Speedway September 23-24 for the NASCAR Cup Autotrader EchoPark Automotive Series 400 and NASCAR Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300.

The Andy Frozen Custard 300 on Sept. 23 will be the second of three races in the Round of 12. Last year’s race saw Noah Gragson win his seventh of the season and fourth in a row, tying a record set by Sam Ard in 1983. Gragson moved to the Cup Series NASCAR, but the battle for victory in 2023 will be equally tight between top championship contenders like Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill and Daniel Hemrick, as well as a few Cup drivers enjoying a Saturday afternoon behind the wheel.

The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 will be the first of three races in the Round of 12. Tyler Reddick successfully joined SpeedyCash.com Victory Lane after last year’s race but has since moved from Richard Childress Racing (RCR) to 23XI Racing. Kyle Busch, the winning driver at Texas Motor Speedway with 18 victories across the three NASCAR National Series, has something to prove with his move to RCR. Reigning series champion Joey Logano (winner of TMS Spring 2014), three-time TMS winner and past Kevin Harvick, and former champions Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson will be just a few of the many elite drivers trying to move into the next round of the championship. Qualifying with a win at Great American Speedway.
