Actor Jeremy Renner has undergone two surgeries at a Nevada hospital after suffering serious injuries in a snowmobile accident.

How did Renner’s accident happen?

On Monday (January 2), Reno said Nevada Mayor Hillary Chevy Reno Gazette Journal that the actor had got out of snow plows to help a car stuck on the side of a snowy mountain when he was accidentally run over by a plow.

“He was helping someone who was stranded in the snow,” Schieve said of Renner, whom she calls a friend. “He always helps others.”

However, the next morning (January 3), the Reno sheriff’s department did not comment on the sheriff’s account.

Law enforcement authorities are currently investigating the terrible incident.

Sheriff says the snow plow that ran over Renner weighed more than 14,000 pounds

During his press conference Tuesday afternoon, Washoe County Sheriff Darren Balaam revealed that the snow plow that ran Renner weighed more than 14,000 pounds (more than six tons).

“He went to retrieve a PistenBully or SnowCat—a very large piece of snowmobile equipment—to get his car moving. After moving the car out of the stuck spot, Reiner got out of the PistenBully to talk to a family member and it started rolling,” Sheriff said.

“He tried to get into the driver’s seat of PistenBully, and at this point he got run over by PistenBully.”

A witness told investigators that they saw Renner try to jump into the driver’s seat while the plow was moving but that he had disappeared and the next time they saw him he was behind the plow.
